Rich Douglas, a 34 year-old Dallas, Texas, native, has had a love of instrumental music from an early age. While most junior high and high school students were listening to the top 40, Rich was playing the electric guitar and listening to movie soundtracks to hone his ear and gain a better understanding of how instrumental music and sound effects can enhance the viewing experience. While attending film school at Montana State University, Rich purchased his first synthesizer, an Alesis QS 6.1 leading him to score several short films for fellow students.​Moving home to Dallas, Texas, he shifted his focus from film to software sampling and attended the Guildhall at Southern Methodist University (SMU) to study level design. While at SMU, Rich composed original music for many student projects while at the same time learning audio / music implementation tricks and tactics specific to level design. Upon graduation from SMU in 2005, Rich was hired by Id Mobile as a sound designer / composer / level designer. While at Id Mobile, Rich composed all of the music heard in Orcs and Elves (EA/Id Mobile) as well as Orcs and Elves 2 (EA/Id Mobile).The following year, Rich moved to Paradigm Entertainment (THQ), where he acted as the lone audio technician. While there, Rich composed the majority of the music heard in Stuntman Ignition (THQ/Paradigm). Now with over 10 years of game audio and music experience, Rich has scored many short and feature length films as wellas video games accross many platforms including the Xbox 360, PC, and iOS. Recently, he has scored Evochron Mercenary which is currently available via steam and has been brought on to score Lifeless Planet and Takedown, both of which are high profile Kickstarter projects. He has also completed all of the sound and music heard in Stan Lee's iOS game Verticus, started work on the indie adventure title Harvest, and has recently finished his 70 minute score (as well as the sound design) for the official remake of the NES classic, Shadowgate.
